Weed Man & Christmas Decor Toronto

It’s that time of year again; cue the tired groans from the kids. Summer vacation is over and there’s a nip in the air that just wasn’t there before. The Halloween candy is already on display at the grocery store, and you’d swear you saw an orange leaf in that tree outside.

Our last entry talked about what you can do to best help your lawn through the Autumn season. It’s important to make full use of this growth period, recovering any damage to the grass caused by summer stressors. This will also set the lawn up for a strong and healthy winter season, leaving you in good stead for the following Spring.

Weed Man has been your lawn’s best friend all season long. And we will be again before you know it. But what happens to your lawn care company during the Winter? Where does your lawn’s new best friend go?

It will depend a lot on where you live. In smaller markets a lawn care provider may be strictly seasonal, closing their offices from November 1st – April 1st. In larger markets, or with a larger firm, the company will have its office open with a small contingent of staff members. They can answer questions and handle bookings, but most of the work is happening behind the scenes in preparation for the forthcoming season. The Toronto market is quite large, and so is Toronto Weed Man.  We stay open year round – how?

Gated Wreaths and Trees Toronto Christmas Light Display

Since 1999 Weed Man Toronto has also been Christmas Décor, the premier holiday lighting provider for homes and businesses in Toronto. This secondary business enables us to provide year-round employment to our staff, which in turns helps us keep experienced people in the company. This gives us a big advantage over most seasonal lawn care providers, who have to lay off most of their staff and then rehire, creating a perpetual lack of experienced workers within the ranks.

Having access to a steady stream of work is only a small piece of our motivation though. Christmas is a very important time of year in Canada, a time when families and communities come together with a shared joy that crosses cultural boundaries. Not everyone will celebrate Christmas directly on December 25th, but we all experience the holiday season together. That joy should never be limited by opportunity or circumstance, and we strive to embody the Christmas spirit in every action that we take. As part of this commitment Christmas Décor is proud to support a number of local charities in our community:

  • The Bob Rumball Centre For The Deaf
  • Ontario Shores Mental Health
  • The Salvation Army
  • The Toronto Grace Hospital
  • Wellspring Westerkirk House at Sunnybrook Hospital
  • St. Margaret’s Hospital Ride For The Cure
  • Church of the Ascension in Don Mills
  • The Armenian Catholic Church of North York

Choosing Christmas Décor as your holiday lighting provider helps us to bring holiday cheer to those who need it most. You can learn more about our charity work on our website, christmasdecortoronto.com

We are still Weed Man. We will always be your lawn’s best friend. And we’ll be back in the Spring – we guarantee it.
